Thiruvarur Carrot Halwa

 

Ingredients:

Carrot - 4
Ghee - half cup
Cardamom powder - 1 spoon
Nutmeg - 1
Maida - 50 gm
Honey - 100 gm
Cashew - handful
Dates - 5
Semolina - 3 spoons
Sugar - 2 cups

Method:

1. Wash carrot, peel the skin and grate.
2. Cook carrot in milk and set aside.
3. In afrying pan, add maida, ghee, semolina, water and cook.
4. Add sugar, dates, honey and stir well.
5. Add cooked carrot,powdered nutmeg, cardamom and stir well.
6. When the contents are well cooked, add little more ghee and mix well.
7. Fry cashew and add to the halwa.
